Chapter 1 (Donovan's Week 4 Update)

While creating chapter 1 of our Visual Novel, I have encountered many difficulties along the way. Firstly, there was a bug where the colours of the characters' name are not showing correctly and I have to ask help in the Discord Community to fix the bug. Fortunately, a user was able to help me and it was corrected quickly. Next, I found implementing the choices of the Visual Novel challenging in the first few attempts. The orders of the choices would be in utter chaos and I have to experiment with it for a few days before getting the hang of the implementation of the choices. Fortunately, it was also an easy fix and I have learnt a lot. One thing I found slightly hard is how to portray characters' personality through text. I have to keep in mind that despite the player just seeing a picture with text displayed, I also have to find a way to evoke emotions into these pictures and texts where the player can relate to. That is ultimately one of the most challenging tasks I've faced and I find it exciting to tackle it each day.
